An Oily Autoportrait

Another small portrait in oil, on board with canvas-like surface.

This is my second oil portrait attempt, of the only subject willing to sit still long enough to be painted .. this is a mirror image, of course.

After posting this here, I thought maybe it would look better (less anemic) if I changed the background color, so here's a different version. (I also made a few small edits.) The original is gone.

Oil, on board, approx. 13 x 17 cm

First Oil

This is my first portrait in oils. A fine picture, but unfortunately nothing like the model, a friend who shall remain nameless until I do a better one of him.

This is oil on canvas-stretched on a 13 x 17 cm board.

It is hard to get the details right on such a small scale, which is my excuse, and I'm sticking to it...

"The Kiss"

With appropriate apologies to Klimt's inheritors, here's my rendition of a wedding photo. Friends of mine got married recently, and although the picture can be seen as a cheap spoof -which may be true as far as the layout is concerned- that doesn't mean I am not sincere in my best wishes for the couple.

Anyhow, Acrylics on canvas, 60 x 80 cm
